Derek Renfeld
Derek Renfeld was hired in the fall of 2010, after interning in the AKPD Production Department, where he had a hand in producing television and radio spots for the 2010 election.
A graduate of the University of Iowa, where he majored in Political Science and Mass Communication, Derek was at the helm of one of the largest student organizations on campus: Student Video Productions. As general manager, he led a staff of six and a membership of more than 125 in the production of 15 television shows, and helped manage a list of over 30 clients. During his time at Iowa, Derek secured nearly a quarter-million dollars on behalf of the organization for equipment purchases, hardware upgrades and the construction of the university’s first HD studio.
Over the years, Derek has worked in the field offices of multiple presidential campaigns in Iowa and Nevada, and also spent time working for the Iowa Democratic Party during the 2008 election cycle.
