Isaac Baker


Isaac Baker brings nearly a decade of political communications experience to AKPD’s creative team, providing candidates and clients with message development, earned media strategy and television and radio ad production.
A veteran of the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton presidential campaigns, Baker served as a spokesman for Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner in the early months of the Obama Administration.
During the 2008 general election, Baker was Barack Obama’s Ohio communications director, overseeing a media strategy that helped secure a 4-point victory in the crucial swing state. In the 2008 primary Baker served as a spokesman for Hillary Clinton for President, overseeing press strategy in more than a dozen caucus and primary states.
In 2006, Baker served as deputy communications director on Ohio Governor Ted Strickland’s landslide victory that returned the governor’s mansion to the Democrats for the first time in 16 years.
Baker began his career at the Glover Park Group, where he worked under former Clinton White House Press Secretary Joe Lockhart on strategic communications campaigns for a wide range of clients including the steel, auto and broadcast industries.
A Seattle native, Baker has a journalism degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and lives in Washington, DC.
