Joe Goldberg joined AKPD Message and Media in 2009 as Vice President of Global Affairs. He leads international business development for the firm and is also responsible for international campaign program management.
Joe is the founder of The J.E. Goldberg Group, a specialized political and intelligence consulting firm. Prior to forming this company, Joe was Senior Director, Intelligence in Motorola’s Corporate Strategy Office where he was responsible for worldwide business intelligence processes, competitive analysis and collection. He began at Motorola in 1993. Prior to joining Motorola, he worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for eight years where he was involved in all facets of intelligence collection and analysis. Before joining the government, Joe worked in the Media and Business Research departments of Frank N. Magid & Associates, a leading media research and consultation firm.
Joe has been a Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) member since 1994, and most recently served as President of the Board of Directors in 2008. He was elected to the SCIP Board of Directors in 2006. He was selected as SCIP’s Vice-President for 2007. He was Chair of the Competitive Intelligence Foundation in 2007. He received SCIP’s Fellow’s Award in 2006 for his “exceptional efforts to promote and assist both the intelligence profession and SCIP.”
Joe is a frequent presenter and published author on intelligence topics. He was previously a member of the Conference Board Council on Competitive Analysis. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Paladin Homeland Security Fund, LP and Paladin III, LP.
He received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science, and Communications and Theater Arts, from the University of Iowa, and a Master of Arts degree from Iowa in Communications.
