Isaac Baker brings 15 years of political communications experience to AKPD’s team, providing candidates and clients with message development, earned media strategy and television, radio and digital ad production.

Baker has led message development and advertising efforts for top congressional, mayoral, gubernatorial and senate campaigns across the country during his ten years at AKPD. In 2018, he was the leads strategist on two of the most expensive U.S. House races in the country, helping Reps. Colin Allred and Kim Schrier flip seats from red to blue and reclaim the majority for Democrats. He also created advertising that helped elect Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, the youngest woman mayor of a major city, re-elected RI Governor Gina Raimondo with the Democratic Governors Association and helped flip three more U.S. House seats with the League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund.

Baker was the Deputy Director of Paid Media and Message on President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, writing and producing numerous television, web and radio spots and coordinating messaging across departments.

Before joining AKPD, Baker served as a spokesman for Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

During the 2008 general election, Baker was Barack Obama’s Ohio communications director, overseeing a media strategy that helped secure a 4-point victory in the crucial swing state. In the 2008 primary, Baker served as a spokesman for Hillary Clinton for President, overseeing press strategy in more than a dozen caucus and primary states.

In 2006, Baker served as deputy communications director on Ohio Governor Ted Strickland’s landslide victory that returned the governor’s mansion to the Democrats for the first time in 16 years.
